New Class Starts May 1
🌸 Blossom & Stone 🌸
You know I have a great fondness for flower essences. I recommend them to my clients, often curating a “bouquet” of flowers for them to have blended into their very own “magic potion” by one of my favorite essence makers. (I don’t call them magic potions, but multiple clients have come to use that phrase on their own, so I’m happy to use it here.)
I created a journal for essence enthusiasts called Priestess of Flowers. I wrote a wee flower essence companion to my Seeds of Wisdom book and deck. There’s even a handy one-sheet of flower essence blends for common intentions in my resource library, which you have complimentary access to as a subscriber to my email list.
What I don’t talk about as much as my love for flower essences is the efficacy of gem elixirs — even though my flower essence journal is designed for those, too, and despite being a certified stone medicine practitioner. (You can read about my education and training here.)
The main reason I don’t promote gem elixirs as much as flower essences is that the place where my clients can reliably source a bespoke bottle of essences works exclusively with flowers, not with stones. There is another highly reputable company I endorse for gem elixirs, but they only sell their own formulas and individual essences — they don’t blend custom dosage bottles, like my preferred resource.
Even though I am more vocal about flower essences, my first experience with vibrational remedies was actually a gem elixir.
It was nearly 30 years ago. I had just come home from my first day at a brand new job and I was already ready to throw in the towel, feeling like I had totally flubbed it. (My then-boss later wrote in a performance review that I was productive from day one, so I was not seeing things clearly.) My housemate listened while I cried on her shoulder. This housemate was also my best friend at the time, and we had recently completed our first training in nature-based feminist spirituality. We were both walking a magical path.
After I vented about my no-good day, my friend rummaged in her room for a moment, then plunked a crystal into a glass of water. With little ceremony, she held the glass in her hands for a few moments then gave me the glass. “Drink it,” she said. “It’s for courage.” I drank it and my fretting began to soften a bit. I knew then, in my core, that I would excel at my job. I don’t know if she was following her intuition, had learned this technique in a book, or was channeling some past life mastery with stones. What I know is her magic potion worked.
I’ve been reflecting on that memory a lot lately. This is inspired in part by a personal writing project I’m working on. I’m gathering up stories from my late teens and 20s about coming of age in San Francisco in the 1990s. This memory has also been surfacing as I prepare to teach my next course, Blossom & Stone.
Blossom & Stone is a joyful exploration of flower essence and gem elixirs that begins on May 1, Beltane. You can read all about the class here. If it speaks to you, be sure to sign up soon. The group size is deliberately small to ensure depth and a strong container for your experience.
One of the things we will touch on is how to make gem elixirs safely… which, however well-intended, my friend did not! While no harm came to me, some crystals and stones contain minerals that are toxic. If my story was inspiring you to drop a crystal directly into your drinking water, don’t! Be 100% sure your stone is safe… and learn with me how to make elixirs the safe way.
In addition to the what’s and how’s of working with vibrational remedies, Blossom & Stone will also teach you to connect with the spirits of nature — Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Ether — as you develop a special relationship with two allies: one crystal/stone, one flower/plant. You’ll practice a form of Earth alchemy as you create your own flower essence and gem elixir. My teaching approach supports you working with your senses and with your intuition, guiding you to receive direct communication from your Blossom & Stone.

It’s my great joy to hold space for your connection with the healing presence of nature.
Happy Spring Equinox! 🌝 ⚖️ 🌚
